Default TPMS

I have a base '09 that has the tire pressure monitor system that has just a light, not the info center. I have after market wheels and moved the sensors using the aftermarket bands from AM, problem is they keep coming loose and changing the balance. Does any one know of a way to disable the light if I remove the sensors? Ford is no help! This system is fine for someone that takes their car for granted, but is not necessary for someone that takes care of their ride.

The TPMS system cannot be disabled (but I suppose if you just have the light that you could disconnect it; I'm not familiar with the base model's annunciation and I couldn't locate the TPMS lamp on the wiring diagrams). It's possible to fake it out by placing the sensors in a pressurized cylinder but I haven't heard of anyone having success with that.

It sounds to me like you need a new set of bands if the old ones keep loosening up. The band kits also come with the adhesive which helps keeps the sensor bracket in place.
