MPG and ponies=No
Looks & Sound=Yes
IMO the GT manuals & H sound pretty darn good.

BTW, what does "help my gas mileage" mean with respect to Mustangs?

An exhaust shop told me that it would help your mpg some because it would be able to breathe better. I will say, it certainly hasn't hurt my mpg. According to the onboard dash pc I average 27 mpg.

No, won't hurt but doesn't help. On the 4.0, the exhaust is not the weak link in the engines ability to inhale/exhale. It may help on the order of a tenth or 2 MPG, but not enough to consider it a gain. You'll negate it anyway by putting your foot into it more to hear the new growl.

I doubt its going to make much if any increase in fuel economy, at least not enough to outweigh the cost of the installation.

OP, check your local Craigslist....you may be able to pick up some GT mufflers for a great price. I just looked at ours and I saw a guy who only wants $10.00. He has been trying to sell them for $80 for over a month. I guess he got tired and lowered the price.
