Default Suggestions for replacing Shaker 500

Ready to get my new V-6 premium coupe of order and I am wondering if there are any good solutions to the shaker 500?

I listen to music and cannot stand querky models where CDs don't read ETC. I had a POS Beemer while serving in Bahrain with a CD/Radio so old you couldn't make out the buttons and it played CDs (including CD-r with no problem)

So my questions are as follows:

1. Are there any aftermarket units that can be put in and keep the dash looking stock?
2. How much of a pain is the wiring harness ETC?
3. Is it worth is to leave the shaker 500 in and deal with issues that even new owners seem to have?

I thought about doing the whole NAV/electronics package....but I really don't want to pay 2K+ for dual climate control as I have always used my phone or a garmin for navigation. Also doesn't solve the CD-r problem with the shaker 500.....

I don't want to invest an arm and a leg, I just want decent sound that can play CD-r/MP3 via USB/IPOD via cable(prefer the car controls to access the IPOD)

Any really decent solutions? I saw aftermarket dash units BUT HATE the fact the double din unit is on the bottom behind the shifter (and yes I know that space constraints make that it hard to put on top.)

Not opposed to custom work, however just was looking for a reasonable solution that will provide what I need......

I have the electronics package, and honestly, I believe it was worth every scent.

But, I do not know of any aftermarket radio set up that would allow your dash to still look stock. I have seen people install aftermarket head units, but it has never looked good at all.

Plus, if you are going with a premium level V6, then the aftermarket could mess with your entire SYNC setup in the car.
I have never had problems reading CD's either, and I don't know anyone who has either, not saying people don't experience the problem on the newer Mustangs. I do use my iPod hookup everytime I drive, and almost never use a CD's unless I downloaded them to the Hard Drive.

Just leave the shaker in, its designed the way it is for a reason.

I had major problems with the shaker.if you don't like double din you can get the single ones and leave a storage tray there and I think I saw somewhere that made gauge pods to fit too.I would show you pics of mine but it's at the body shop right now.as far as looking stock I don't think there are any options.
