Default Powerhouse Turbo and X-Charger

Before anyone tells me to use the search button; this isnt a vs thread asking yall to tell me which one to get lol.

Im trying to see what kind of numbers I would get out of both these systems. My car will have heads and cams by the time I get either one of these. I know the turbo will make very high numbers but Im curious how far I can stretch the X. If I have the heads and cams will it be easy to hit 350+ rwhp with the X? And how much boost will be needed to reach this?

I like the turbo because of the numbers it can make easily but really like the reliabilty factor with the x charger.

I guess what Im really looking for is to be in the 12's consistently in the 1/4 mile.

I really don't know the numbers offhand, but I can say, XChargers are very reliable at low boost, between like 6-10 I believe.

However, a properly tuned turbo, or twin turbo system will actually be much more power and just as reliable as a single turbo. You'll definitely runs 12's with a twin turbo.

Maybe even better:

From what ive read theX Xtreme wont give more than 10 PSI.

One other benefit- you can install the X on your own over a weekend, whereas to go turbo youll likely have to shell out 1-2 k for installation.

I also seem to remember a 4.3 L stroker kit for the 4.o somewhere...

If youre gonna do heads and cams may as well get forged pistons/ rods as well and have that installed while the motors out

That stroker kit though is really a race only application, not a daily driver from what I have read on it (and I think it says so on his website as well). You have to be ready to replace the rods yearly because they will stretch. But, as far as I know there isn't anyone running one of those kits either.

Jim, What internals would you use with your X if you wanted to?
