Question First Ford ever...2010 Mustang convertible V6...? on radio

Greetings all,

New to Ford and this site so please go easy on me.

Purchased a 2010 V6 convertible with 37300 on the odometer. Car runs great and I am still learning all the buttons and all. Have a question on Sirius radio. There is a button that says Sirius, and when I push it it says "no Sat radio" so I assume there never was an install.

Can someone direct me on how to install and what components are needed to use the sirius radio? Also a good aftermarket site to purchase components from for the install, or is this a dealer install?

Thank you in advance

Andy

I don't know if these came equipped stock with Sirius.
Either the option was not installed which will require them to put an card in, which installs from the back on aftermarket stereos (not sure about the stock radio),
or its just that you have not subscribed to Sirius.

Sat radio is not free bro. They charge you each month for it.
13-18 bucks I believe depending on the package you subscribe to.

Since you have the button I am guessing it is installed but you don't have service because you
aren't subscribed.
You could always take it to a dealership and I'm sure they would know.

Someone may come along on this thread that knows and answer for a definite.

No doubt you have the radio that's capable, you just need to call and subscribe. The car came new with 6 months free service, then the original owner would have either subscribed or just let it run out. I just renewed the service on my 2011 Focus, it cost $105 for one year as a special offer.

Yeah I think your car has the equipment too, just need the activation from Siruis. I think 05-09 mustangs only came with the sirius setup if you got the shaker system. It might be different for the newer cars though.

@beaustang, damn I got charged almost twice that amount I think for the years subscription! AAAHHHH, lol I need to start really looking for these deals better...

if it says no sat radio, you don't have a tuner or antenna installed. if you had it installed, you would get the preview channel. the antenna should be on your trunk. if there isn;t one, you need a tuner and antenna.
