Default Tire help

Hey guys, I just picked up a set of 18x8.5 bullit rims and some input on which tires to buy as well as the size. I want 255/45/18 size tire but don't really have a lot to spend, i need a good cheap tire! Thanks.

do you just want the wider tire? just compared prices to what mine are, which is 235/50/18 on 2010 gt wheels. they are about the same. 235 seems like just enough but not too much

Yeah I wan t the wider tire. I saw a commercial where ford is giving a 100$ rebate onn their tires. Is this true or is there something hidden?

Typically with rebates its true, they just go on the fact that people forget/don't take the time to fill out the rebate form, for the fact that it takes about a month to receive your money.

Gotta decide on cheap OR good. Usually only way to get both is on a closeout or some tires that are hot.(you know, fell off the back of a truck).

I got lucky and got some Eagle F1's on closeout at Tire Rack, keep searching the internet for a deal. Most places will ship to an installer, then you just bring the wheels and the car.

How would having two different brands of tires effect the drive-ability? Pros Cons?

Having two different brands is not going to matter at all. the side walls won't match but that's cosmetic. The big thing is you don't want two totally different tread patterns or two different sizes. Now if you want wider tires in the back it can be done, just make sure the overall circumference is the same as what is should be from factory. If not, you will need to buy a tuner b/c your speedo will be wrong.

What do you mean by the circumference should be the same? How do I find this out?

Another way is new take off's, that is how I got mine, they said they were used for maybe a mile and then they were removed, they still had the lines on them from the factory.
