Sirius Radio

Sirius Radio
I own a 2010 Base Mustang. The Sirius button give the "No Sat Radio" message. I see satellite tuners from junked Fords. I wish it had come with Sirius. Can I get a tuner and add it to my radio? Is the wiring there? In other words, if I get the tuner, can I take my radio out and add the satellite tuner to it, hook up an antenna, and make it work like factory? Has anyone done this? Help! (I don't want aftermarket stuff.)

You didn't state which factory radio you have. My '09 w/Shaker 500 came with Sirius from the factory. I understand that the Sirius part of the radio is actually in the trunk. Check here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_220CNP2...r.html?tp=6953
These units can be added to most factory radios, and with the proper wiring harness (extra), all functions work at your existing head unit. Can be done, and mostly plug in. Probably run a couple of hundred bucks, plus the monthly subscription. Don't know if the above one is the right one, but should give you a place to start looking.... I love the sat. radio. Good tunes, and I want to just keep cruzin'....Good Luck.....

The one you posted from Crutchfield is to add XM to aftermarket radios.
The original equipment radio from Ford requires a specific Sirius unit to work - the one that is in your trunk (mounted on the passenger side behind the carpet panel by the way). You can't add any of the aftermarket receivers to the Shakers.
