2012 mustang axle??

Default 2012 mustang axle??

Will it fit my 05 v6? It has less than 9k miles on it and has the 2.73 gearing??

It mounts exactly the same so yes, it will fit. The pinion flange may even fit, last one I arranged to get shipped to someone was from a 2011 and he didn't have to change the pinion flange to fit his 2007 V6 driveshaft.

You current gears are 3:31 why would you want 2:73s?

Im thinking he meant 3:73 ? 2:73 does not make any sense.....

There is a guy on classifieds here in my town selling it for $50 and he says it's 2.73

273 is probably what you have right now. I forget the year the V6 auto went to 331.
For 2011 and 2012 I believe 331 was the lowest gear the factory had...?

Could be wrong though...?

Ford released 2 stock rear ends with the '12, 2.73 or 3.31, and those are the 8.8 rear ends so you get a much stronger rear end as well, thoroughly inspect that rear-end, because that person doesn't know he could probably get 400-500 out of it by selling to someone who has an older s197 so there is either something wrong with it or he is just clueless.

im going to get it now he said it is out of a 2012 v6 he swapped in a shelby rear end.

so looking at it they made this axle for econmy so would it be a bad idea to drop gears like that since its not really upgrading at all?

Even just for the axle $50 isn't bad. You can just buy gears for it and have them installed for about the same or less as buying a used axle with gears.
