Default 4.0 Cheap exhaust setup???

I got a 4.0 and i want to put a dual exhaust on it but not have it be so expensive.

I'm thinking an exhaust shop makes me a custom made H pipe and custom 2 1/2 " piping to 4 " tips. Think this will sound good? Also would hi flow cats help the engine breathe better? Also how much do u think this would cost me?

Custom fabbed H,
straight pipes the rest of the way back..

can get the extra tailpipe off Ebay for 50 bucks. Have an exhaust shop do the rest, looking at around 200 including labor.

Cheapest: find a take-off stock GT system: the over-axle pipe for driver side and gt mufflers. Dont use a x or h pipe, just cut out the stock Y and put 45* sections in and bolt up to the mid-pipes.
I did mine like that, was under $200 including BOTH mid pipes from a GT and all clamps and junk.

+1, a GT take-off fits perrrfectly.
And they are available for cheap.
Enjoy the new sound but dont expect
any HP gains.

But I would suggest that you leave
the H-Pipe section in there and forgo
the 45s and massive use of pipe clamps.
The GT system will weld in there on a V6
and look OEM if done properly.

Now to just cut the rear bumper cover for
the extra exhaust pipe.
