Default 2013 Mustang compared to 2012

I recently purchased a v6 2013 Mustang. I'm looking to do some modifications like a Roush axle back exhaust, JLT carbon fiber intake, and a couple of other outside things. As far as the exhaust and Intake go, is there a size difference between the 2012 and 2013. As far as I've heard, the only difference is cosmetic in front and back.

Welcome to the "bleeding edge" of technology, where things are pretty much unexplored!

On the CAI...it is probably safe BUT the 2013 does have a new hood line, so that could be trouble. Put one on and GENTLY close the hood, and be sure to check for clearance on the pulleys up front. If you contact someone like AmericanMuscle, they can either tell you or work something out so you can exchange if it turns out to be a no go.

On the exhaust, best best is to see if Ford changed the part number for the Ford Racing mufflers. If the ones that fit 2012 fit the 2013, you're golden.

Me, other than waiting for the 2013 I have on order, I am waiting on a nice ProCharger setup.

Do I need a Bama Tune if I get the Roush Exhaust and CAI intake?

You don't have to have it, but it CAI wont do much good without a tune, aside from giving you a cool air sucking sound.

I'm in the same boat as you with my '13 . During the past 3 weeks , I've contacted AM , Flowmaster , and Airaid about 2012 cai/exhaust parts compatibility with the 2013 . All 3 stated that they were waiting for a test vehicle to check compatibility .

Handheld tuners "marry" to a particular ECU. If you borrowed one from a friend, it would not work because it's married to his car.
