Default Screamin' Demon Coil

Ok, will the Demon Coil have any affect on my car's performance? Or are they just blowing smoke at me about this coil actually being a power booster?

(With the coil, I'd upgrade wires and plugs too)

My friend swears it will make a difference, but he had a '99 4.6L...

Thanks.

Aftermarket COPs provide no power gain for an NA S197, V6 or GT. They will provide a very modest gain if you're FI but nothing to get excited about.

Most aftermarket COPs have been noted to have high failure rates. Many folks have gone back to their OE COPs due to issues.

Will this be the same for a 2004 V6 also? (my friend is considering it too)

The ones for the 4.0's tend to cause more problems than the stock coil packs. You wont gain power on a 4.0 from one. But if you insist, I have a SCT stick-on that will add 47 hp. Same effect.

Lol Mike you are too funny.

+1 to the screamin demon not doing much of anything, I have actually heard of those failing and the stock one gets the job done.

You will go faster but its because of your lighter wallet
not any performance gains.

EPA requires the full fuel charge burn and the OEM packs provide that NA.

2004 IS NOT THE SAME AS THE 2005-2009 4.0s.

A good set of Magnacore plug wires would give you more
bang for the buck at the spark plug electrode.
You have to get the spark energy to the plug tip.
It does no good if it all leaks out thru poor OEM plug wires
before it gets there.
Just saying...

157db, are the OE wires that bad or do you mean that over time they will degrade?

I thought the 4.0's wire were fairly decent until now...
