Spark Plugs and Wires

And least not in the traditional sense, the individual coils are driven by the computer.
The 100 year old process of a distributor switching the 20,000 VOLTs to the spark plugs has a long history of problems.
Isn't COP is used in virtually all modern cars?
Maybe Ford screwed it up in the 05-09 V8,
but hopefully they figured out the problem for the V6 that arrived in 2011.

The BIG advantage of Coil on Plug (COP) is that there is no distributor.

Best of both worlds...

Whatever you do do not use bosch plus 4 i posted a thread a while back where i had learned the hard way about them. the ignition system is a stout system as it is unneccessary to add the screamon demon ( bad results with most of its customers).
the wires i use are the taylor wires, cant say i saw any difference besides the better looking wire. plugs i use now are ngk. dont make the same mistake i did and blow 150 on ignition stuff and end up spending more money and several hours to determine the problem being plugs arcing to the side of your engine.

What do you mean it's a "stout" system? I've heard that the screamon demon coils cause problems. I'm trying to figure out why they do cause problems. Has anybody reported success with any after market coil packs for the V6?

I bought a set off summitracing. They are call David Travis or something .I paid 110. But well worth it the wires are 10mm thick whilemost others are made with 8.5. I notice my car starts quicker. But wouldnt say I gain a lot of hp maybe 2 hp couldn't say. But the wires are great . You can also get them in different colours so that's pretty cool if your going for looks.

On our '07 we have the Taylor Street Thunder 8mm Sparks plug wires. We've used Taylor quite a bit too. Check out the customer submitted reviews about them!
