I peeled mine off very slowly. Came off easy & clean.
A little heat may be needed during a cold Kansas February.

I just did this last week. I'm in MD in 35 degree weather. I used a heat gun to get the stripe off and then some alcohol in a cloth to get rid of the shadow. It came out great, but I was freezing!

Wrong in so many ways.
Heat gun and pull at a 180 degree angle
to the paint, not at a 90 degree angle.

The paint will be less faded under the stripe
and a 'ghost stripe' may be in its place once
the stripe is removed. Beware...

92% alcohol will remove the remaining adhesive.

Follow this up with a good paste wax.

I wonder if you will have a ghost stripe left behind? I have read many take theirs off during the summer months when the sun heats up the vinyl. Using a heat gun + on a hot summer's day will help get it off better without breaking into many pieces.

Beware what? That alcohol will remove adhesive? That makes no sense.

He means there will be a residue left behind, similar to if you put duct tape on something for a month and peel it off - there is a residue. Use alcohol to rub that residue off.
Personally I would wait until summer to remove them and just use a blow drier. That's what i used to remove my door ding strips. Wash & Wax your car right after you do this too.

If you have an older car you may want to peel off a tiny corner and shine a bright light and see if there is a ghost stripe underneath, in which case you may just want to leave the stripes on.
