Default pinion flange from 7.5 to 8.8?

http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-p...0304cobra.html

is this the flange that is needed to go from a 2008 v6 7.5 rear to a 8.8 rear. im going to a 2011 gt rear but its all the same from 05 to 13 in the 8.8.

just not sure what else I need to make this work. haven't grabbed the rear yet, want to do my homework making sure I don't need to spend more money than this is gonna cost me.

Yep, that is the flange to go to a 8.8.

I want to say I read somewhere that if you are getting a 2011+ 8.8, then you don't need the cobra flange. I can't remember where I read it though, but am pretty sure it was on here.

Yeah this is a pretty basic swap. The suspension set up is basically the same so you just need to throw the 8.8 diff in there and some sort of 8.8 pinion flange. A lot of guys do use the 03/04 Cobra Pinion flange!

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance! -Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266.

And a new crush sleeve.
And a new pinion nut.
Be sure and get the pinion preload right
or that new 8.8 will toast prematurally.

I've done that swap...
That's the flange and it's all you need except maybe for a new pinion seal for good insurance.

Yep, $4 items like seals should always be replaced when its feasable
when doing any kind of repair or swap.
Like only changing the outer whenn brearing/race on the boat trailer
and only on one side to boot. Do inners and outers and seals
when you have the item apart. And maybe both sides as well.
Like it only drives on one wheel part of the time and the bad
outer bearing/race was defective and the other three are still
fine?

If you are getting a rear end from a 2011 check the pinion flange on it before swapping. It should already have the correct flange making it a direct swap. I used to have a source for rear ends to sell and the first time we sold one that came from a 2011 we discovered that the flange swap wasn't needed. (the supplier closed down so no, unfortunately I can't get the rear ends anymore)

Any rear end before 2011 you have to swap the flange. And the one you posted is the correct one.
