Does 2011 V6 keep any speed logs?
Hello all,
I made an account when I bought my car, but I don't believe I've ever posted. I drive a stock 2011 V6 Mustang, and I was wondering if the computer keeps any speed logs for the Cruise Control system that I or my mechanic may be able to access?
You may have guessed why I asked, I got pulled over for doing 82 in a 70 zone. The only thing is that I was locked on cruise control at 71 MPH (plus or minus one or two MPH). I even hit the "Resume" button after getting the ticket to verify, and I was right.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't recall ever hearing that it records any such data. I recall hearing that some other make of cars will record a short amount of data which is constantly overwritten so that in the event of an accident there is about maybe 10 or 30 seconds of info to show what was going on immediately prior to impact.

Unfortunately no, your car does not store that type of data. You should bring it to your dealer and have it checked out though. Let me know the outcome.

Go find a place to get your speedometer's calibration checked and if off, certified or notorized for court.
Was it a long down grade? Some cars with CC set will still pick up speed gradually in the very high geared overdrive which offers very little engine braking.

No logging unless you have a deployment while doing the speed, then the last 5 secs are recorded as "non volatile memory" in the RCM which is why when you have a deployment, the air bags that popped, the sensors that tripped, and the RCM get replaced.
