Some questions about my car
My car is 100% bone stock, other than the front fascia/grille from the GT coupe, since my car had the pony package the lights in the grille do work (and they look pretty damn slick IMHO). Here are my questions, bear with me.
Cold Air Induction, my air box is the stock ugly black box with the tube that connects it to the intake manifold, any suggestions that are relatively affordable to upgrade this, or would I be fine with swapping the air filter for a K&N?
Rear end, do I have a split rear end where one wheel goes forward, and the other will go backwards (depending on if it is in Drive or Reverse) or do both go in the same direction at the same time?
Exhaust, I have the stock 2 pipes that go into 1 pipe with a single muffler/exhaust tip. I plan on swapping out for a more dual setup, I know a dual exhaust will not make my car sound like a V8, I just want something that will make it sound less 'wussy' .
Front plate, sadly I live in NY that is a 2 plate state, my car is from PA which was a 1 plate state and the car does not have the front plate bracket (thank god), I have been trying to find a aftermarket mount that will let me attach a plate to the bumper without drilling holes (as stated I have the GT front bumper not the standard V6 one).
Please note, I am not making this car into a racer, this my daily driver that I just want to add some minor external and mechanical mods to it, so any info would be MOST helpful.

If your car is stock then you have a 7.5" rear end with an open differential. So power goes to one wheel.
If you get a CAI don't bother with the "no tune required" type. Lot of money to "look nice" but no performance gains. Get a CAI and tune and it will wake up your 2007 V6.

As far as performance mods, the best bang for your buck is the Cold Air Intake (CAI) and hand held tuner combo with custom tunes from a reputable company such as American Muscle or Brenspeed. The both write excellent custom tunes for both the 4.0L.
A stand alone CAI will not net you much HP gain, maybe (3-5 HP) and is barely noticeable. I have an Airaid CAI, which does NOT require a tune. I drove around with a stand alone CAI for several months and felt minimal performance gain at higher RPM range. Once I had enough money saved up, I purchased the SCT tuner with 3 custom tunes from Brenspeed and was very pleased with the outcome. Once I uploaded my custom tunes from Brenspeed, I noticed the performance gain immediately. The custom tune really woke up my V6 and it felt like a totally different car. The estimated HP gain for a V6 is 15-20.
**Do NOT consider a drop in K&N air filter for the stock airbox. This will not get you any HP gains.
I hope this helps and good luck!

There's a ton of great info in this forum regarding what works and what doesn't.
Drop-in filters are useless. A stand-alone CAI on the V6 does very little for performance; possibly 3-4 RWHP. A CAI and good custom tune (ie, Brenspeed, American Muscle, VMP) will yield about 15-20 RWHP. Even a custom 87 octane tune will run circles around the stock 87 tune.
After that, it's nickle and dime HP gains unless you go Forced Induction (for a few grand).

Starting with the 2012 model year all Mustangs have the 8.8" rear end and the Ford tlok differential. So your 2014 has the tlok and 8.8" rear end.

According to your information you have a 2014, and is not the same as the 2007 for the original poster. From 2005-10 the V6 Mustang had a 7.5" rear end with open differential.
