On your SCT tuner, can you see the difference between the settings each tune applies? And thanks for the writeup.

No, on the screen.....all you can see is the actual tune you want to load. Once you select the tune, you just let the tuner do its thing and follow prompts to turn on/off key. My SCT tuner can hold 10 tunes (all newer SCT tuners can hold up to 10), right now I have 4 loaded in my SCT tuner:
91 Street
91 Performance
91 Race
91 Hybrid

I might do some data logging to fine tune the 91 Hybrid tune, since that is my favorite tune and gives the best results.

**I took a short freeway trip yesterday. I drove 20 miles on a relatively flat freeway going 70mph with cruise control on. The on board trip computer showed 33.8mpg over that 20 mile drive at 70mph. Not too shabby.

They make a 91 street tune? That's new. They used to only offer 87 and 89 octanes for the street tune citing that they couldn't make it worth while with the 91 and 93 octanes. I'll have to hit them up for the 91 octane version

Thanks for that. I'm currently thinking of grabbing the TSX bluetooth. Not sure if you can actually see tune settings, but apparently you can monitor sensor data with it.

I have the diablosport n1000 and you can see most the settings for each tune as well as adjust many of them. It also does data logging and reads and clears DTC codes.

I thought I would do another update on my progress.

My MBRP axlebacks have been taken OFF the Mustang. Not that I didnt like the sound, it was fine. The problem I had was the reduced back-pressure resulting in throttle-lag and loss of low-end power. Most people will swear that axlebacks DO NOT affect performance.....I will tell you that is 100% incorrect. The MBRP's open up the exhaust flow so much it actually hurt my Mustang's performance at LOW SPEEDS. That, I didnt like. At higher speeds and higher RPMs the performance gains were felt. I was hoping the SCT/BAMA tuner would correct this issue. It did......sort of......let me explain:

***Keep in mind......I have an AUTOMATIC trans MUSTANG V6****

I tried all 4 tunes available in 91 octane. The 91 HYBRID TUNE being the best (IMO).
The tune did correct SOME of the low-end power loss and throttle issues, but not 100%.
I just never could get used to the throttle/gas pedal feel with the axlebacks.

So, I found a set of takeoff axlebacks from a MANUAL transmission Mustang. (No "pipe within a pipe" mufflers) and I decided to swap these for the MBRP's.

I can tell you that the MANUAL transmission mufflers are louder/deeper sounding vs AUTOMATIC transmission mufflers. I have 1st hand experience and can say there is a difference. The lost low end power is BACK! The Mustang feels light on its feet and much stronger acceleration at low speeds up thru higher speeds.

The 91 Hybrid Tune + AIRAID CAI + MANUAL TRANS STOCK MUFFLERS is what I am running now and am very happy with the result.
While the sound isn't quite as aggressive at WOT vs the MBRP's I find the sound of these stock mufflers aggressive enough for me.

So, if I had to do it all over again..........I would just do:
AIRAID CAI
Find some takeoff stock MANUAL TRANS axlebacks
NO TUNER (the performance gains are not as much as I was hoping for, but I can feel a difference.......but not sure I would spend the $375 again) but since I have it obviously I will use it......91 hybrid tune only. The other tunes just weren't as good.

I would love to see some actual dyno number differences on the manual mufflers vs the automatic mufflers vs some of the aftermarket mufflers, all on the same car of course
