Default SN95 8.8 Rear Axle

Would an 8.8 rear axle off of an SN95 fit up to a S197, I understand with a newer one all you'd need to get it to match up is a the flange, but seeing as it's a different model, would it fit, and would it be worth it?

Not 100% sure, but I would imagine that the SN95 axles are shorter width wise compared to the newer axles. Not to mention the points where everything bolts up might be different.

If you buy a '05-'10 8.8, you'll need to buy a cobra flange. If you were get one from a '11+, it will bolt right up, no flange needed.

SN95 is a 4 link connection - the S197 uses a 3 link so in addition to width, the mounting points are all different.

Wont fit. Different bolt-on points. Must use a '05 or newer rear end.

+1
different mounting points for a SN95 and a S197

04 Cobra flange would be needed if the SN95
rear end would bolt up... but it wont so the flange
is a moot point...
