I was looking at your website, (dash cover) and I noticed the install instructions take you to shifter boot install. I am curious how difficult the install is as to whether I want to attempt myself or pay someone else to do it. further more will this cover a crack in the dash about 3 inches long with no separation without showing the crack?

Yes, we are awaiting full install write-up with photos from the first customer who did it (the car in the photos, to be precise).
This is of course a DIYable product but the installation requires lots of precision, patience and DIY skills.
As for the crack - I'm not dure how bad it really is so a photo would help to give you some advise

I also have a question concerning these two pics, how was this done around the side defroster vent? as best as I can tell it is part of the dash and doesn't come off. The black pad has a finished look but I can't figure out what was done with the excess as shown in the pic with the red cover.
Thanks for any info

AFAIK the black dash is finished exactly the same way - the trick is that black leather has also black bottom and installed on black dashboard panels. this way even unfinished edge of leather looks nice. Red leather has a bright bottom which stands out on black dash making it look not as cleas as we would like to...
Asn fo the crack in your dash - I think the leather will cover it nicely but in order to avoid having it visible after dash cover installed I would suggest applying a bit of epoxy resin there and smoothen it down with sandpaper before instalation of leather - this way you will be sure the crack will not extend and will not be visible on leather surface.
BTW - I am now emailling you some photos I took during test-fitting to get you an insight into installation process
