Default Traction control.. factory delete?

Okay I have a question for everybody. I have a 08 V6 Mustang and I do not have traction control. I do not have the button nor do I have the module in the engine compartment. At all the car shows I have gone to I have only found one other car that did not have the module image department. Can anybody tell me how rare this delete was.

I don't think it is a "delete", it just wasn't selected as an option when that car was built. My 2005 does not have TCS or ABS.

what they said. stability/traction control didn't become mandatory in the US until 2012 model year.

Looks like you're in the same club as I am in. From what I've learned about our cars there is a good chance that:
-The car started it's life as a rental
-You do not have ABS either
-In my case, I have TCS, just no button. Popping off the faux button reveals the wiring harness for the button
-you probably have a manual driver seat, this is very uncommon

The above is pretty consistent for almost every v6 I've seen so far without the "TCS" button.

edit- you would be the first person with a V6 I've seen with the pony package but no TCS. Are you sure you're not just missing the ABS module and have TCS?

I believe TCS and ABS was part of a fairly common upgrade; I can't recall what that was but about 90% of the V6's that I've seen have TCS.

I bought my car new from the dealer in late 2007. I have a fully electric drivers seat. I looked into it and I don't have the abs module. The button where the TCS should be does not come off, And I have fishtailed it a few times taking off on a wet road . I have all the pony package features. It's not that I'm complaining, I think it makes the car more fun to drive. I just thought it was odd that it was missing.

I'll try again later on today and see if I can get the blank where the TCS button should be off. And I'll see if there's any wires or connectors behind it.

Well there you go! It is def. the ABS module that you don't have under the hood, I don't think the TCS system is anything noticeable besides a button.

Without ABS you don't have TCS - so even if the wires are there, and you get a panel with the button, it isn't going to do anything because you don't have the programming and the rest of the system. The wiring you see is just that it is cheaper to build with one wiring harness, even though some of the wires don't do anything depending upon the options on the car (just like the "phone" button on the Shaker that doesn't do anything, or the manual transmission guys finding the plugs for the automatic when they pull the console). Some of those wires could be used however if you were to change the cluster to a "my color" set up, and then you would need the panel with the TCS and other buttons. But just putting the panel there, without the rest of the components did NOT give you TCS, just a light that you can play with.

In 2007 ABS and TCS was optional on the Pony package. The first year, 2006, the Pony package was loaded up with things.
