Default Axleback Exhast Break-in Smell

Not trying to sound stupid but I had Magnaflow Street Axle back exhaust put in (sounds AWESOME!!)...is there a break-in smell period like there was when I put chrome headers and an x-pipe on the car?

Hi baibbas,

I don't know about magnaflow specifically, but when I had my Dynomax full exhaust installed my system had an odor for about the first three days after I shut the car off. There are oils used in the production of the tubing and mufflers that burn off, which is normal.

Has it been longer than that for you?

Tom

I don't know how you would smell axle back mufflers unless you were outside of the car next to them.

The time for that to go away will vary depending on how hot you get the exhaust and for how long. I've found it to burn off after a few hundred miles.
