I would stay with a stock 4.0 before going to an old school 5.0. If I remember right, you said this was an extra car for you. That being the case, I would continue to shop for a good replacement 4.0 that has mileage and a price you're happy with. One will come along.

Thanks sir!

Currently, the car just received a top end rebuild pretty much. New timing chains, new timing chain guides, new headgaskets, new timing chain cassette, new thermostat housing, all in all, a lot of new parts. Should be driving the car tonight! So excite!

Oh..my god. that's disgusting. I'm surprised that car was not infested with bugs.

On the other hand, this type of situation feels like a huge reward in the end.

Well I went and picked the thing up last night, let it run for 10 minutes while I talked to the mechanic. Checked, no leaks or fluids so I got in and headed home. About halfway home steam was pouring from under the hood. I checked and coolant was pouring out. Unfortunately, it was dark so I couldn't tell where, but it looks like possibly the water pump. Not sure.
