Default New stereo for Mustang

I just bought a Pioneer stereo to replace the stock Ford stereo (not Shaker).

I got for the bluetooth so my son could concentrate on driving a stick while talking on the phone if needed.

I got it on sale a week ago for $90 and then paid $115 for installation (including additional wires).

I really like it as does my son.

Cool! Just about anything is better than the stock one.

Makes you wonder why Ford doesn't install better stereo such as the one I bought. It can't be that more expensive?

Really the only real improvement was the Bluetooth, which is what he desired..
It would have really been cool to get 1 of the USB thumbdrive models, that's all that plays on our 'Stang.

Speakers are the real WEAK Spot on Mustang Audio IMHO

By the way jz78817, I've got 1 of my Pioneer 6802 speakers installed, changing the polarity wires on the adapters is a pain in A$$ ! It sounds better. We've got cold wet weather right now which mess's with my old fingers... Appreciated all your help !! Wise 1 here

yeah, if you're stuck with the base 4-speaker system, it's... not great.

I guess I'm don't distinguish what good sound is because the 4 speaker system sounds fine to me.

But then I'm almost 50 and hate loud noises.

I'm pretty sure it has a USB port as the description for the stereo says "Use the front-mount auxiliary input or the USB port to connect your device.".

I gave a thumb drive with some music to my son to try out on his stereo and he hasn't reported back saying there is no port.

the front speakers are mounted high in the door which reduces the amount of bass they can produce. Plus, they're "full-range" speakers which are necessarily an ugly compromise. They're not great at bass, and they're not great at treble. You can make full-range speakers sound reasonably decent with EQ, but the problem is that the stupid little whizzer cone that fills in the high end is unpredictable and performance varies from part to part.
