Default 8 year birthday review

I bought my 2007 v6 mustang on this day 8 years ago. Since then she has underwent a series of mods, I thought I would post a update on a 8 year old mustang for references purposes.

Car- 2007 v6 pony package convertible (torch red)
Current Mileage- 56k miles

Things I have had to replace-
Alternator at 36k miles
Battery at 36k and 56k miles

Mods that were a waste of money
C&L Cold air intake and tune (simply because i eventually bought a supercharger)

Mods that I hated-
JBA Dual Exhaust (rattled on every bump)
Borla Ford Racing Stinger Exhaust (Loudest drone you can imagine)
trailer hitch (what was I thinking?)

Mods I loved-
X-Charger
1 piece Aluminum Driveshaft
3.73 rear end
Nitto 555 tires/wheels
2011 leather seats/steering wheel
custom sound system
complete dynamat interior and trunk
Cervini tail lights
roush hood scoop
gt exhaust
GT Front facia and sides
GT Brakes/Rotors

Things I hate about the car
plastic interior, (cheap, cheap, cheap)
Plastic shifter (Piece of ****)
plastic lever to move front seats to get into rear seats.. (everyone on them broke, more plastic junk)
plastic painted door handles (car driven in rain less than 50 times, garage kept, with only 56k miles and paint is flaking off of both of them)
no trunk release (really?)
plastic 2-piece t-stat housing (mine is currently leaking, have to pull supercharger to replace)

Things I love about the car
It was a great looking car from the outset
the mods I have done to it
The comments I get from it, even to this day its a conversation starter with complete strangers
won a couple of awards at car shows

Mods to come
X charger extreme
New shifter

Overall rating of the car after 8 years as the original owner
8 out of 10.

Plastic is the future tbh, lot of things are going plastic simply because it has come a long way in durability and doesn't corrode. Lot of the interior plastic components that feel cheap though, can be replaced with aluminum parts that look and feel nicer.

Get you a short throw shifter with a nice handle, makes a night and day difference when it rumbles in your hand.

I read that the new Mustangs have a much better interior.....door trim not made of plastic.
Great write up....love reading about people's long term reviews.

I agree about the door handles, I bought a 2015 Fusion and they fixed that by making it a 2 piece with the part that usually flakes made out of black plastic with the outside painted. I wish my stang had them, but I will have to get it painted eventually.

Great write up!

Talking Love my 06

Nice write up on your evaluation. I imagine you have done many of the mods yourself like many? I plan to keep mine for some time that I enjoy so much. Latest is my replacement Monroe struts and rear shocks + brake components the past 6 months It corners like a slot car again. Now with nice weather almost upon us, I can enjoy even more.
