Hello all my daughter car has this issue. I have researched and tried and completed the following can anyone help? The Battery is Good, replaced the altenator, checked the battery gorund tight it is tight ot the block. Voltage meter gives me 14 volts across the battery when running.

What am I missing.

Are you getting a warning light?

Are you measuring on the battery posts or on the cable clamps?

Make sure that all connections to the battery and alternator are tight .

Also have you used an OBDII reader to reset all the error codes?

You might just have a bad ignition coil causing your problem. If not, then have your alternator and battery checked again at one of the major autoparts stores. The wiring going to the alternator or back to the computer/cluster could be bad also.

yes I have the battery light on and the "CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM" on the info readout. I have cleared the codes and it comes back. The reading is across the termainals of the battery.

What is the voltage-same spot-when the lights are on bright and the heater fan on high?
Can you measure the voltage-same spot- when you start the car?

goto autozone and have them run a test

i Have retested the system ans for lights and fans turn on with the car running and voltage is still over 13 v. What else can be telling the light to be on?

Check all the grounds, you can measure from the negative batter post to the chassis, and from the battery post to the engine. You might see one that is corroded, if in doubt, clean them with a wire brush.
it'll help narrow things down if you measure voltage across the battery posts when you crank the engine.

What he said. Considering the history our cars have with alternators, I would suspect it first. Did you replace the alternator with a rebuilt or new one? I haven't had an issue since I went with a new one two years ago. But before you blindly throw more new parts at it, go to one of the auto parts stores and ask them to hook it up to their machine.
