Everything indicates color code D3 Torch Red so I bought some touch up paint in that color, but it seems just a bit too dark. I might have to go a shade lighter if I can find it.

This one is Torch Red and looks similar to my car:

everything can be found on americanmuscle.com

estimated HP from vortech is 290, that does not include anything else.

Back in the day I remember reading that if you throw on a bigger carburetor but don't also upgrade the intake manifold, exhaust manifold and exhaust system, the new carb can't really do its job. Sounds like your upgrades took everything into consideration.

yeah did most everything prior to the S/C, except dual exhaust. After the install I really felt like I needed to go dual and did so.

So if a stock 2006 4.0 V6 is 210HP, going to 290HP is a 38% bump. $4k plus install ( so $5k total? ) That's a significant investment in a 9 year-old car worth ( $7k stock? ) but 38% is significant.

vortech does not mention if its HP rating is at the flywheel or at the rear wheels, also there is room for improvement later with a better tune or inter cooler with more boost. Also it is an easy install most people should be able to do it over the weekend, if I hadn't broken a dealer only item during install I would've had it done in one day.

Your options for new key are:
1. Have dealer make you a factory key - about $80
2. Buy a cloned chip key at Ace Hardware - about $40
3. You can get blank keys for about $5 on the internet but you need two "factory" programmed keys to program new keys. If you only have one plus an aftermarket cloned key it won't work. The local hardware stores often won't cut your blanks because they want to sell you a clone key.
4. You can get additional remotes on the internet and they are easy to program.

Thanks Bfunke. I got extra keys and had a local locksmith program them. Then some remotes from Amazon which I programmed myself. Next is to find some touchup paint -- I ordered D3 Torch Red but it seems a bit too dark. Possible the original red has faded but it looks like new. D3 is what shows as the factory paint code in the driver's door jamb.
