Exhaust Decision!

Exhaust Decision!
Hey Guys thanks in advance for any input you can give me.
I purchased a mint condition 07 v6 w/pp about a month ago. The car has about 30k on the odometer and from what i can tell never seen a winter.
The only performance mod that had been done to the car was a magniflow competition cat-back.
Since ive gotten the car i added a BBK CAI , Bama Tune and Eibach front and rear sway bars.
I didnt realize till today while doing the sway bars that the cat back was not a true duel system. So i called a buddy who owns a exhaust shop and for a hundred bucks he will toss the y-pipe and bend me some pipe back to the cats in true duel.
Is it worth it? would i need to request a new tune from Bama? I dont really care for the exhaust drone , will splitting the pipe change the sound, louder or quieter?
Thanks Mike

Probably because it has been answered a lot already.
No you don't need a new tune for dual exhaust.
True dual will be louder.
Removing the cats will not sound good and offers no performance benefit.
You will likely have drone still; true dual won't change that.

Hopefully you live out in the boonies. Modifying your exhaust by removing your muffler to increase noise is illegal and although rarely ticketed by police any neighbor could call to have the cops issue you a ticket. I know because I've made the call myself.

Im not looking to remove the exhaust, just take out the y-pipe that came with the magnaflow exhaust and run straight pipe from the cats back. I will still have the mag. mufflers.
I keep reading that by doing the split without a H or X pipe i will loose power which i cant afford to do.

Mike I just want to congratulate you on your '07. I have an '07 PP as well with only 13K miles on it. I did have duals installed using the Pypes kit and two GT mufflers. I'm pretty happy with the way they sound and look. Good Luck.

After doing alot of reading about the 4.0 ive decided to leave the exhaust as is. Since the car is new to me ive been working on getting rid of the clunks which where driving me crazy.
Ive added the Eibach sway bars ,gt 500 LCA's & upper strut mounts. Now im looking at the rear upper and lower control arms.
The car looks great from 5 feet away but the previous owner new nothing about maintaining the paint, the swirl marks are ridiculous. Im thinking of just bring the car to a good body shop and let them wet sand or whatever it takes to clean it up.
