Yes, they use a kind of two-piece plug that does not always come out in one piece. V6 uses 'regular' plugs and no problems.
My buddy had a 2007 GT and he broke all 8 of his plugs when trying to change them out 2 years ago (120ish thousand km's I think). Turned into an all day job with a lot of cursing but we got them out. We needed to employ the ford removal tool, he bought it at a cost of $150 I think. He ran 1 piece plugs until he sold the car without issue (not sure of the make).

I am happy that the 4.0 uses a one piece design, should be easier to change them which I am planning on doing when the car goes back on the road this spring.

My V6 plug change was easy as my 66 fastback plug change.
