Default Help, I'm Desparate with Electrical Issues!

We have a 2007 Mustang V6. The other day, my wife was driving in the rain and the a/c blower and wipers stopped. She was by a Ford Stealership when it happened... so after checking the appropriate fuses, she took it into them. They said it needs a wiper motor, and a blower motor and harness. I think back when the passenger floor used to get wet before I corrected the leak issue found in TSB 08-26-07 and wonder if there may be corrosion behind the Smart Junction Box because I replaced the wiper motor and get nothing. I'm a disabled combat veteran and my wife is battling cancer, so our income is limited.

Can someone help me diagnose this so I don't spend a fortune on it?

That TSB pretty much covers all of the main points of leakage. What was the source of your leakage? Was it for the SJB or was it the first one where the drain plug in the firewall was clogged? T

he clogged drain in the firewall under the Cabin air filter is where i'd look since the failure of both of your parts would fall under potential issues encountered.

Not likely both are actually bad, but failed due to a connection issue, or internal or external fuse. A voltage check would tell whether there is voltage at the wiper motor, and then go from there.

UPDATE: Derf00, the leaks was no longer the issue, but they were the cowl grommets and the cowl weep drain grommets that I took care of last year... the issues were the electrical problems. The linkage arm broke between the wiper motor and the assembly. Replaced said motor and had no power. I tested the related relays and all were good. Mike, with my VOM, I traced the problems back to the SJB. Pulled the SJB and removed its case so I just had the PCB in hand and found corrosion on 12 pins. I used contact cleaner and a soft tooth brush and cleaned the pins and the associated connectors and reinstalled. VIOLA, I had wipers with jets and my blower motor was blowing strong. Ford's estimate was $1000 for the two motors and a harness and I still would've had the problems since the SJB was corroded. I spent $85 on the new wiper motor and my labor. The only electrical issues I have left are the Shaker 500 has a super dim display and my climate control switch seems to have a short, but at least the car is safe, legal, and cool again. I'm investigating those other problems now.

Thanks for the input guys,
David

We spent $89 on Ford's diagnosis, $85 on the new wiper motor, $7 on contact cleaner, for a total of $181 and my labor.
