I know this is a general issue with the S197(I think) but I have the Airbag lights on all the time and the seat belt light minder never sounds. It was on when I bought the car and the dealer said it was the recall, but it was not. I got that done and a week later the light went out and the seat belt minder started working. Then all of the sudden one day I had something in the passenger seat and all went funny, so I stopped and turned off the car and restarted and then I'm back to both Airbag lights on and no seatbelt minder again. I'm thinking that this could be a short with the sensor on the drivers seat or with the seatbelt switch/resistor. Just need to pointed in the correct direction so I can fix it before it comes time for inspection again.
