Default Vs. Pre - 1996 Dodge Stealth

My sister said her friend wants to race me in his Pre-96 Dodge Stealth. She said that he has many mods done to his car. I know for sure that he has Nitrous, exhaust, possibly headers, and maybe CAI. I was wondering if I should be able to take him from a roll and from a stop. Im pretty sure I could take him from a roll, but not sure about from the stop. I have an automatic with my list of mods in my signature below. Im not sure what model of Stealth he has, I know that on the 96's the base has about 165, the R/T has about 200. So would I win in either situation, or is he gonna blow me away? [&:]

Is it the base or turbo? It's a 3.0L V6 at the base which is 164 HP @ 5500 rpm and 185 ft lb @ 4000 rpm. Even with headers, a tune, CAI and exhaust he shouldn't be netting more than 35 more HP. That is going to put him at 199HP at the fly wheel and TQ wise, our car is rated much more even with his mods. You should be able to crush him off the line, unless he hits the juice. even with a 75HP shot of juice he will over take you. It would be a good race though.

If its a RT then I am not sure, depends on the TQ numbers. The older stealths are not much of a TQ car. Find out if he changed his gears....and to make the race fair tell him to lay off the juice. If he has gears it will be close, and if it's an RT with the mods you listed, he will probably beat you unless you out drive him.

To summarize, if he is a base model you will smoke him as long as he isn't on juice. If he is a turbo model it will be close depending on what he is not telling you. You are probably 15HP over stock with your mods considering your CAI isn't in yet. Did your tune fix the throttle lag on your auto?

Yes the tune did get rid of my throttle lag, and I just found out that he could have possibly just dropped a new motor in it and put a new tranny in it. My sister is gonna find out later and inform me when I get home tonight. His friends say that it has a lot of hp? So it begins to sound like I am screwed for this race. I will post the info when I find out what hes got in it? [&:]

Depends on the motor, and if it was stroked or not. Very possible that 3.0 was stroked to 3.8 or more. That combined with turbo and nitrous will make for a tough ride. Let us know what you find out and how it goes.

Well he just told my sister that it was cammed, bored out pistons, port and polished the heads, titanium valve springs, headers, exhaust, and intake, upgrade fuel pump and fuel injectors, upgraded ecu, and swapped the auto tranny for a manual. Her friends told her that it had well over 300 hp. So it sounds like I am screwed. I will post after I race him. Thanks.[sm=youreright.gif]

I wouldn't bother with it if I were you. Unless you can afford a paxton for your car, then you would kill him.

Alright well thanks for your input, I will probably just race him for the hell of it, just to see how I stack up against him. Hell he may miss a shift or something.
