Default GT fog lights in the V6 grill?

Has anyone tried putting the GT fog lights in the V6 grill? I just seen an auction on ebay for V6 grills for on $10. Seems like it may be worth practicing on. I've been scanning the forums trying to find the best way to put the fog lights in my V6 but no one has mentioned cutting the factory V6 grill and trying it that way. If anyone has done this or knows why it would not work please post.

If it doesn't work, I guess I will be getting the Street Scene drop in grill that requires no cutting or craming like the West Coast model.

mr wick did one and was selling them but you have no adjustment. so what you get is what you get. kinda like the west coast grill if you force the grill in i would only think the lights would point out a little. and they have only up down adjustment.

this wont help but i remember seeing a grill on ebay a month or so ago. He took the v6 grill and installed a set of gt lights in it from the pics it looked good. he said he was selling it because he wanted the Street Scene grill aslo. But can we really know that for sure, he could have screwed somthin up

afixer has a good piont about the ajustments. but i have done this many times befor, where somthin come on ebay CHEAP and i have bought it to test somthin out. so if you can get it for 10- bucks go for it you may even check the junkyards

good luck

I placed my bid. I figure if anything it will be worth it to get the pony off of it to put on a street scene grill. Thanks afixer for pointing out the lack off adjustment. I hadn't thought of that. And thanks for the links you posted in the other forum. Your grill looks sweet.

your welcome . i have had my car since feb 05 and i have waited around to see if anyone would do what street scene did. its the best one i have seen so far. unlike that idiot in the other post i dont want my car to look like a gt . so bumpers were out ! all i know is back in may i was driving to arizona with my wife and son and on a dark windy road i could not see as well as i wanted to. so thats why i did the grill with the lights. it does add alot of light. another reason why i wanted the street scene its functional. if someone came up with a better one i might look at it. so is that newbie (yea right) still stiring the pot? where are the mods why hasent he been banned yet. that post looked like a pretty big fight to me! oh well the must think its funny or something. good luck with the car.

A decent foglight grill is $400. Your regular running lights are different on the V6, so it won't look 100% like the GT. I hope that idiot you're referring to isn't me. I'm just a lil frustrated at the whole foglight, dual exhaust, GT bumper stuff that some of the V6stangers are wanted so badly. I mean, if you want it to look like a GT, buy one. I think it looks better to shave the V6 grill and get aftermarket bumpers, leave the single exhaust, but make it 3" piping than run around posing as a GT.

I'd absolutely hate to taint the GT's name. I have dual magnaflows, I just believe these stangs are born for dual exhaust. However, I don't want to "pose" as a GT, so I bought 4.0 emblems for my fenders. I'm planning on buying a GT rear bumper to fit the exhaust; wouldn't mind getting fog lamps in the future (or the entire GT front fascia). I just want people on the street to know it's a V6, I would never dream of misrepresenting the GTs.. especially in a race.

And I eat Accords for breakfast. [8D]

Id like to see that Accord take on screamin or rygen in the quarter at the track...LOL... Or how about meet up with mine after I put on my street tires in the Spring and you can take on a SuperCharged 4.0 [&:] I Think enough said. The stock v6 may not be a speed beast in its pure form, but it is easily molded and modded into a fierce competitor and a great sleeper. Don't underestimate it. As is the GT a great powerhouse as well.

Carol Shelby felt strong enough about the V6 4.0 to have it made into a Cobra as well - that should be a small indication. The CS6 will pretty much pounce on a stock GT and pummel any Accord or 350z. Bottomline - there will always be a faster car - if money was no limit everyone of us on these forums would forget about driving a car and be flying a jet - lol.

Back to the question at hand - I say go ahead and try it. Could be interesting and as mentioned before, Mr. Wick did try this, and seemed to come out pretty nice. It's all about making the car customized to how you like it. As long as you like it - who cares what anyone thinks... Try taking some pics while you do it and post

And don't anyone take offense to the above statements - but when someone posts with a V6 Mustang Eater... honda accord.. you got to expect a little defensiveness. I'd like to see this emblem come up for sale...

I completely agree.

I haven't been at these forums long enough to experience whatever aversion some GT owners had toward their V6 brothers, but I've been here long enough to know that the time for that has already passed. You [virtually] spit in our face by flashing a V6 Accord "V6 Mustang eater" all the while being a "prideful" 2005 Mustang owner... How troll of you, GT05. I can sincerely say, if you come into a Mustang enthusiast forum to stir up old sht then we bid you farewell. We will not harbor your mentality.

You really aren't deserving of the explanation screaminyellin provided. People do what they want with their cars, what is it to you? Waste your energy getting upset over V6 owners that want their stangs to look like GTs, why doncha? I'll paint my car hot pink and green if that was my thing. I know why you're frustrated, "V6 posers" yeah whatever. What is it to you? You have a real GT anyway.. these "V6 posers" impeding on your driving pleasure? If so.. someone is insecure. [>:]

that was funny lol

also it is Our v6s. When you make the payment on my car then i will do the stuff to it that You think it needs!! Until that point in time feel free to Share your opinon and give some constructive criticism. But YOU DONT NEED TO PUT DOWN THE V6s to make you self feel like a big man

i think his whole deal is he is afraid one night he will be at a stoplight and see a mustang next to him, hes going to think its a gt because its gona have fogs. there gona race and then hes gona lose. At that piont it would be ok because the lost to a GT but then he will find out it was a v6!!! then how will he face his GT buddys

haha, this is a great post guys. i'm a former v6 owner (98 v6)....and as of this year a brand new GT owner (06 Black GT), and having owned both now - each car has it's benefits. and to the poster who said they are great sleepers...right on. the v6 is easily modified (so much room to work), and you can basically turn it into a GT on the inside if you want - which makes keeping the outside appearance looking stock all the cooler why don't you knock off that rear spoiler while you're at it....don't want to look too fast now

also, when i was deciding on my GT, i drove the v6 as well. man, they certainly have added a lot of stock power since 1998. and that's a nice stock growl that previous v6s haven't really had (stock). all around, it's SUCH a nice car, and anyone lucky enough to have a v6 OR a GT shouldn't have anything to complain about. what you own is a beautiful piece of machinery. what more could a red blooded american ask for?

Right on, its all about the Stang! I loved my 5.0 and I love my new 4.0. I'm addicted to the stang now matter what.

Oh, did someone say Accord?!?!?!? Um yea, bring it to Maryland International Raceway, I'll be there for sure! You might want to bring one of those new eclipse as backup as well.

I'm with you there, thats why I got my running pony emblems and 4.0 for the rear. That way they know a 6 banger just smoked em at the strip. Well at least thats what I'm hoping.

You should really consider your approach here. I have read every post you put up, and all of them are bashing the V6. Now you have an accord as your signature, fair enough. But take your posts to the GT section and see if you get a warm welcome there, I highly doubt you will. I love all stangs, this isn't my first and it's not my last. My last stang was a 93 5.0 and I love it. No problems with that car what so ever.

Now, about your accord, well, you will have to back that one up. Because the numbers do look good on it (on paper at least), the new accord V6 has a broader TQ curve than previous years, so compared to the 2002 model, it has significantly more launching capabilties. So the numbers look good, 240 HP, 219 TQ. But here is where it really counts, look all over the web, 1/4 mile times on this car is 14.8 (6 speed, manual). Fazm was hitting 14.7 with just a bolt on cai and sct and crappy BFG tires. Scrming hit 14.9 before his LCA's were put in and no N20 and he's an auto.

You have like one post in the GT section, every other post is here in the V6 section in the form of some sort of bashing. If it will help, give me your email an I'll send some money via pay pal for you to spend at the local strip joint. Whatever your fancy, I'm sure the gals or guys will welcome your dollars there.

Cheers!

rygenstormlocke, good post. another thing to take into account is the fact that most mustang owners (especially the ones who post here) are fans of the mustang whether v6 or v8, modified or stock. and i'd be willing to bet that many GT owners at one time or another owned a v6. any GT owner who goes around bashing the 6ers just doesn't appreciate the mustang for the awesome car that it is. personally, i loved my 98 v6 while i had it (and it's actually still a great car). now that i have my 06 GT, i've fallen in love with the mustang all over again. true stang lovers appreciate the rich american history behind the car - and i think it's clear that everyone knows a stock GT can beat a stock v6...big effen deal. They're MUSTANGS people....you must love them!

oh, and for the record, i'm always checking out and posting in the 4.6L forum, and i have yet to hear any v6 bashing from the GT owners who post there. whoever is doing the bashing should just take it somewhere else....nobody's interested.

Just looked over all of his posts, such a jerk.. He's still a baby (17). Probably had mommy and daddy buy him his stang.

100% in agreement - true Mustang aficionados don't care if its a 6 or 8 (even a 4 for that fact) - they all love the history of the Mustang and the style. To each his/her own and like blackbutee said "They're MUSTANGS people....you must love them!"

You won't hear V6 bashing GT owners so try respecting the same.
