Here is your chance to own a one of a kind completely restored 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible. This Mustang has only 20,000 miles since restoration was completed in 1996. This Mustang was restored to be driven on a daily basis and intended to have a little fun with too. The original 289 was professionally bored .030 over with 302 heads, 351 valves. The compression ratio is 9:1 with a 600 cfm Holley 4 barrel with electronic choke so the car starts with ease. The engine also has an MSD electronic ignition with mechanical advance, cast iron Shelby Cobra headers, and complete flowmaster exhaust system. This convertible is also equipped with factory in-dash ice cold AC, power steering, power brakes and stainless steel front disc brakes. A new Top loader 4 speed with Hurst T-handle shifter was installed in the car with a 3:55 gear in the rear end. This combination power train makes it extremely reliable and fun between red lights and around town too. The car sits on complete new front and rear suspension with new torque boxes. The floor pans and cowling were replaced as well. The convertible top and all interior items including the steering wheel have been replaced. The current steering wheel is a styled aftermarket one but I also have the factory steering that has been completely restored. All chrome on the vehicle was replaced and the body was given a decent paint job when it was completely stripped down. All of the paint and body work was done at Cocoa Mustang in Cocoa, Florida and the engine was rebuilt by Brevard Cylinder Head in Merritt Island. All remaining mechanical work was performed by me starting in 1993 and completed in 1996.
