Who has there 2011 MGT in the LA area now....
and who would be up for some video taped runs between a stock 2011 MGT with 3.55 gears and a 2011 MGT with 3.73 gears?
I haven't decided which gear ratio to go with and would love to see the "real" world difference in some
40-110 mph (2nd gear start)
20-100 mph (1st gear start)
runs.
Want to see how much the 3.73 gears would, if any, pull on the 3.55 geared car from rolls.
I personally think the 3.55's are better suited for drag racing if you are going to mod and make more than stock power, but stock and from a roll, I'm thinking the 3.73's will pull a CL or so 40-110, but would love to know first hand.
I can do the video taping and will pay for gas.
PM me if you are interested.

do the math, literally. if your cruising in your car at 5000rpm with 3.55 gears, to do the same speed with 3.73 gears youd only be at 5300rpm. in other words at about 2500rpm the difference is just 150rpm, your stock tach cant even show differences that small. get the 3.73s, 3.55 are like the red headed step child of gears

ya, the thing about roll races is that with higher gear ratios you both start in the same gear but your shifting sooner than someone with a lower ratio.
A while back i raced a guy on here with my mustang. we were both at about the same power level. He had 3.73s I believe and I had 4.10s. We started at about 30 and went to about 120 a bunch of times and every time had the same result. We would start even and once we got on it we would stay even, but when it came time for me to shift to 3rd he still had another second or two in 2nd so he would pull on me for those couple seconds. Every time I had to shift to the next gear, id fall behind more.
For drag racing I can see where they would benefit, but if you do roll races on the highway, lower gears are best.
