Tires for the 17x8???
I will be getting some new tires for my stock 17x8s soon and wanted to know what the best tire would be to get. I would like to get some 255/50/17s I want good cornering, low noise, good traction, good wet traction, low tread wear along with even tread wear, and nothing that will burn a hole in my pocket. I was looking at the NT 555s and the Invo's but will take other options too. And is there any other places besides Tirerack and Discountiredirect to get them.

Congratulations.... you have asked for the impossible
The question you ask is a subjective one, but in general, you won't find all of those listed The NT555 is an all-around good tire, but not fantastic at any particular performance catagory, but a good overall tire that meets all those items in the middle.
My recommendation is to focus on the one major factor in the decision and to ONLY be trumped by the needs of a tire in terms of grip. That is to say, if you want a low-priced tire, but are really into the corners or getting good traction off the line, you need to save your pennies longer, so as to afford what tire you MUST have to meet your needs as a driver.
What are your ULTIMATE needs as a driver, in terms of grip?

No... please do NOT install a 275 on an 8" wheel. This is an incorrect fit and will create poor tire wear and a lousy turn-in response. A 245 is max on all manufacturers of which I know in a 45 series.

I have 275s on my stock wheels now and worst tire i ever got. caused an accident. i actually dont need tires anymore as i am getting the same wheels i have now with tires that only have 6k on them for 350.

Because tire size is can be just as important as tire brand/model. Too wide/thin a tire for a wheel width can make what would be a great tire for his/her needs, respond poorly due to bad fitment.

ok and i am aware of that. as i stated i wont go 275 again because of an accident. I want 255-50-17 and want to know a good tire in that size.

^ My response was to Iceguy, but missed the 50 series for an 8" wheel
A 255/50 is rated for an 8" wheel, in all cases of which I am aware, so I see no issues. Just be sure to confirm this tire is OEM diameter on your ride, or the speedo/mileage will be off. This can be addressed via tuner, but just so you know.
As for a tire in this size, EVERY tire is a good one, depending on the needs of the driver. Head into Tire Racks Decision Guide for some good ways to narrow your needs down by all kinds of ways.
