Default rim size?

What size are 1997 gt wheels. I was curious because im not sure what size tire the rim would hold and look good?

That would be a 17"x8" wheel with 245/45/17" tire.

You are limited to a 245 tire on an 8" wheel per all manufacturers that I am aware. The next question to ask is what kind of driving do you do in order to find proper tires for your needs.

If you want to run 315s, your best bet will be 17X10.5s.
