I have these on my car right now and have been having some "issues" in the rain. 4 times now I have hydroplaned in the rain here. It rains ALOT in Oregon, so this is kind of an concern since my little girl rides with me alot. Granted it was brief moments, but one almost put me head on with a car coming the other direction cuz it happened on a corner. The tires still have lots of tread left and are fantastic in dry conditions. I've been doing some reading online and this seems to be a fairly common complaint with the 555's. What is ya'lls thoughts on this?
By the way, I was only doing 40-45 mph cuz of traffic/speed limit.

I have the same problems with mine....tires are excellent in dry conditions but in the rain, they are awful. I was doing 40-45 and had to stop quick for a deer and my bullitt spun out on me. I'm looking into new tires.

Sounds like a normal issue with the Nitto's, but would recommend the stockers for Winter if you still have them. They are going to be more likely to lose traction in the wet, but should not be a major issue. I run a set of Michelin PS2's for my Winter set, but are probably a bit less "slick" in the wet as the above. I am also running less power than either of you, as I am not into the 1/4.... I am into the quarner
I am actually about to remove my current Summer set, as Winter is setting in now. My R888's are 80% dead and you want to talk about Slippery When Wet!

PS. OP... the speed isn't as much an issue as the corner in which it was carried, but you already know that. If you still have the stockers, put-em on for the Winter as you will HATE yourself next Summer otherwise.
The corner wasnt sharp, just a gentle bend. But yeah, the stockers are going on this weekend. Not really that cold here yet, but the "rainy" season has begun
EDIT: And since we are gonna be all Bon Jovi with the references, I dont wanna be "Livin on a Prayer" everytime I take a corner. With these tires on I feel I might be "Wild in the Streets".

I certainly agree that your safety is the highest concern, especially with your girls in the car Put the stockers back on for the rainy season then whip out the meats when it's time to show 'er off agin'
