Default Will these Winter Tires be ok?

I just bought a 2006 GT. The previous owner put some
Pirelli Nero Zero M+S 17's on it with a lot of tread left.

I will drive this in the winter, and possibly hit some snow.
With winter coming up, (I live in Utah and get some doozies occasionally)

Will these tires be ok? or do I need something better?

How do they compare on the grand scale of tires for winter driving on the stang....say how do they compare to a Blizakk or similar....

I just want to have the best traction in the snow possible if I happen to get caught in a storm, and if the pirelli's will be fine then I can save the money and get some wheels next spring instead.

I'm already planning on some weight in the trunk.

Well they are an all season tire but with the tread pattern they have I would probably not want to rely on them in a nice snow storm. If you wanted to have the best traction during the snow, then I would get the Blizzaks. A lot of people have them and say they are great.

Blizzaks + sand bags in the rear (right above the rear axle not in the back of the trunk) = good set up for the snow.

I'm not the tire expert but I thought I would give this one a try. Jazzer is the expert in this section so do whatever he says

The neros are not that good on the snow and ice. I would suggest that you look into some snows. You will be much safer should you encounter more than light snow.

Which one then, Toyo Observes.... Hankook ice bear.....or...Cooper Arctic Claw.....

Or is the Blizzak really worth the dough.
