Default Optimal Tire Pressure?

Hey so I just put on some tires from you guys, Goodyear Eagle GT's (225/60-16) on the stock 16x7 rim for the 2007 V6 Mustang Coupe.

First off, love the tires, they grip well, comfortable, and quiet compared to the stock BFGoodsuck OEM tires I had before.

I know the tires havent really broken in yet (only got a couple hundred miles on 'em) but it seems like at the end of the turn, the car breaks out on oversteer.

Would you recommend I lower or raise the pressure of the rear tires to get some more grip back there?

You may want to lower the rear pressue a bit, but may just be the performance gap between both sets of tires. Please let us know the exact model number of previous tire.

Is ***THIS*** your current tire?

If so, I would not expect that to be a great tire on the corners. It is an A/S radial and is quite hard in terms of compound.

As for tire pressure, I generally recommend one run about 9 PSI below the max tire pressure listed on the tire when it is cold. So if it says max 45 PSI, fill to 36 when the tires are COMPLETELY COLD. The pressure will increase approx. 8 PSI around town and on the highway in most tires. VERY hard and long-term driving may go up a bit more.

Yeah those are the tires I got, but this tire is better than the stock one right? I mean the sidewall is not as tough but it stays it's ground a lot more in the turns, it just seems to let loose a lil more.

The max psi is 51 for the tires.

Looks like you were running the PZero Nero A/S prior to these now.

I think these two tires would be pretty close in all aspects, but have never run either of them. Hopefully Colin can chime in and give his two cents as he would be more familiar with them.

What is your current PSI on front/rear? Remember to measure when the tires are cold, but not like freezing or anything THAT cold

Nono those are for the PP rims 17 Inch rims, I was running BFGoodrich Traction T/A Specs on my stock 16 inch rims, the crappiest tires I have ever driven on.

I will check the PSI in the morning and give you a report to see where they are at now.

EEK!

Dem's some cheapo's and would expect the ones you have now to be at least somewhat better. Let's see what your pressures are and maybe figure it out.

Okay! Got the tire pressures of all 4 wheels.

Front Left: 32 Front Right: 33.5
Back Left: 32 Back Right: 33

My max PSI is 51.. so it seems a bit low. What should I adjust them to?

Well... put some air in 'em, silly

a 60 series tire can run relatively low pressure, but you could certainly go up a bit. I would suggest you run them up to 36 and see how they do. Drive around a while 'til they get warmed up and see how the feel on the corners. You may want to tinker with them a bit untill it feels good.
