Default Quick Winter Tire Question

Looking through the other threads I couldn't figure out if these tires would fit some used rims I just bought:

Tire:
http://www.michelinman.com/tires/win...xi2/78411/?tss
Size: 205/65/16

Rim:
I'm told the rims are the stock "pony" rims on the GT from 94-04. They are 16"

I'm worried about the width of the tire fitting on the rim, think they'll work or should I get another size such as 195 or 225 (or change the ratio of 55 vs 65 too)?

Thanks

Welcome, Syracuse

The tires you have chosen are designed to fit wheels between 5.5"~7.5" and am quite sure the wheels you have are within this range. For snow driving, you are best served by a narrow wheel/tire, so I think this is a good choice.

As for aspect ratio, I have no idea what that means

..... just messin' wit 'cha! That tire is going to be a hair under 26.5" diameter, so a touch large for your ride. I think a 205/60/16" would be a better size and would keep your speedometer accurate as well.

Thanks for the welcome and info!

I used to have an '86 Mercedes 190E and used car forums quite a lot (was a mod on a couple sites). I'm glad Mustangs have just as strong of forums, and hope to stick around here for awhile.

I'll do a write up on the Xi2 after this winter (I live in Oswego, NY which can recieve 200+ inches in a year so I should have a lot of use with them).
