Default Winter tire question

Hey all, just had a question about a winter tire I was looking at. My GT has 235/50 18's, and for the winter I am looking at getting some Hankook I*Pike 235/55 18 winter tires. I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with these tires; if they are any good or not. Thanks!

I'd go with Bridgestone Blizzaks.

I've gone through 3 seasons with them, and there is still 80% tread life left, even with the Blower on the GT, the tires give so much traction in Deep Snow(5+ inches in snow) and ice.

I have the Blizzak DM-Z3 which are designed for extreme winter storms, and are probably the best winter tires out there.

Normal winters tires have two layers of tread. The winter tread wears off after about 3 seasons of winter, and turns into an all season tire. The DM-Z3's are more expensive, but have 1 layer of tread, which is for winter, and will still be great in winter even with 25% of tread life left.

Good luck in your search, hope this helps.

Thanks for that! I had originally looked at the blizzak lm-60's, which were not cheap, but the dm-z3's were only $119 on tirerack!
