+1 to DarkhelmetRT.......follow those steps, should be reasonably durable, and considerably cheaper than any other option. If a few years down the road you see some chipping, then consider something more permanent. Based on my experience, though, won't be necessary.

powder coat is your freind. Dont use spray cans as they chip alot easier. I powder coated the wheels on my drift car professionally and only has a few paint chips from tire mounting. I powder coated them about 2 summers ago and they are still fresh.

2nd on the powder coating, if spray paint starts flacking you will have a mess
