So I want a wide tire on the rear wheels and like the affordability of the Sumitomo HTR Z's. However the more highly rated HTR Z II's and III's do not come wider than 275's.
I wanted to put 315's on my rear and HTR Z can do that. But I've been told they are lousy.
So what do you all think???????

I had them for a year or so, and while they look great (hey they're 315's lol) they don't hook for ****. Switched to 315 Nitto 555R's...HUGE difference. Won't ever go back.
I mean they are okay for general spirited street driving, and handle decent, but don't expect to get any straight line traction in 1st, and even the 1-2 shift.

I value your opinion more than most others Mrtstang...and at a mere average difference of $55 a wheel I can see how the Nitto's would be worth it.
It's just if I'm gonna spend $200 more for tires I needed to know it was well spent.
Do you know anything about Kumho Ecsta XS's? They are basically the same price as the Nitto's but go as high as 335's. Any thoughts there?
And for the time being if I stay with my current wheels (before I buy the 10.5's) I was looking at the Suitomo HTR Z III's and Kumho Ecsta SPT?
Also can I run these tires all year round or are they summer performance tires only? I live in New Mexico and we have very mild winters.
The only affordable recomended All season tire I found in my sizes was the BF Goodrich Super Sport A/S's.
Any comments on any of the above listed tires would be very much appreciated.

I'm not really familiar with the other tires that you have mentioned. Let me ask you this: Do you want just great looks for little $$$ (even at the expense of performance and/or handling) or do you want looks and function? Are you interested in straight line performance, cornering performance, etc...?
I also see that you mentioned mild winters. Any performance type tire on a Mustang will be a real handful in even the slightest snowy conditions. Ask me how i know lol.
