Anyone running 35mm offset?
#1
Wheel offset question...
I'm looking at some 18x9 inch wheels with a 35mm offset. It seems like most of the 18x9'' wheels that I have seen are a 30mm. Anyone out there running the 35mm offset and can attest to the fitment inside the fenders it terms of rubbing / sticking out from the fenders. I'd be looking at doing 18x9 on all four corners.
Appreciate the help.
Here are the wheel specs

That is just about 1/4" and will not have any rubbing issues whatever It will sit this much deeper than the +30mm wheels you see and have a solid 3/4" additional space, prior to any rubbing on the inside/back of the wheel well.

Thanks Jazzer so check my math on this...
The OEM wheels are 18x8.5 with (I believe) a 50mm offset. The wheels I'm looking at are 18x9 with a 35mm offset, meaning there would be 9mm (.35 inches) more clearance on the inside of the wheel and would extend an extra 21mm (.82 inches) to the outside of the fender than the stock wheels? Does that sound about right?
I also see after some looking that the AR Torq Thrusts have a 34mm offset in the 18x9'' wheel and they seem to flush pretty well against the fenders...
Here's a pic of the 18x9 +34mm I found... Opinions?

My head always starts to hurt when I do the kind of math you have proposed up there I know there is a simple way of figuring it out, but I just over think this kind of stuff.
Do you think that you will see that 1mm difference between the wheels you WANT to buy and those pictured on the car above? Unless I am misreading something here, you will not possibly see a difference.

Pictures are all over on this, so I'm sure you'll see something you like.

The other way around.
The higher the positive off-set, the farther the wheel goes toward the INSIDE of the fender. Measuring wheels is easier if one can think if it in terms of back-spacing.

I did say it wrong! - anyways a picture says it all
I dig those +34 offsets, they are about right for the S197, IMO.
+30 or less might start requiring fender modification depending on the width of the rim, but that is a guess and dependent on sidewall height. +45 or +50 IMO are too far inset.
To each their own, as long as it is safe and works for you.

I have Givanna Cumo 20x8.5 (35mm offset) on my front wheels and they look great IMO. The side of the tire finishes flush with the top of the fender. The one draw back is these wheels don't fit with big brake kits, not sure if its the offset or if its the wheel itself. I guess the guy who origionally ordered them had a big brake kit and they didnt fit so I got a great deal.
EDIT>> Wanted to add I have a Eiback Pro kit installed so it's lowered.
Pay no attetion to the black spot on top of the fender....some ahole decided to hurt my baby. Im glad I don't know who did it!
