For the new edge? The American Muscle Staggered kit has 275/35/18's for the front and 285/18's for the back. Is this correct for new edges? or would there be issues?

If it matters the car is lowered 1.6" F&R

I am not a new edge so I can't really help, but I am running 275/40/18 with no problems.

Well, I'm running 265-40-18s on the front and 275-40-18s on the rear of my '03 GT. I think 275s are a little wide for the front for my taste though. 285s on the rear is great. I like a little BULGE over the wheels anyway. I have 9" wide wheels. Not sure what wheel package you may be getting.

Im lookin at this: http://www.americanmuscle.com/blackc...9904-stag.html

They say they are guaranteed to fit, and their tire size options are extremely limited, unless I go with sumitomo tires instead and run 245's on the front.

Nice wheels. They will work for sure. AM always checks things out first, to make sure they'll fit. It's just the look that may be an issue. Some like the SUCKED UNDER look. Others, like me like the BULGE in a tire. It looks more meaty. That's a personal choice though. But the wheels are a great choice. Many owners have them on their new edge stangs.

I do like the look of meaty tires both front and rear, but i thing id be more comfortable with a 255 or 65. But this is the cheapest way to go for me, so perhaps if I dont like them I can just wait for the fronts to wear out and buy some narrower ones later. I just was concerned about rubbing issues mostly.

Thanks for the encouragement!!

275's generally rub on the NE rides, so would recommend you stay with no more than a 265.

03GT... a 285 is too large a tire for a 9" wheel and recommend you go narrower. 275's are max approved and still a bit too wide, IMO.

So why does AM offer them in their staggered package with no other options? Even their non-staggered package only has the 275's all around.

I could go with the nitto INVO, they offer the 245's and it would have tobe 275's on the rear...but is there that much of a a difference between the 275's and 85's? ANd are the invo's a good tire? Who knows Eh?

A 275 tire will fit, but they tend to rub on fender or sway bar up front. They are also a bit too much tire, IMO, for a 9" wheel and tend to be sloppy in the corners.

The Invo is a fine tire, but it depends on your needs as a driver! What kind of driving do you do?

No track time or anything, perhaps some quasi- spirited driving on the street everyonce ina while, nothing too aggressive. What about putting INvo on the front and 555's on the back? I would like more traction off the line tbh. I also like to corner, but again, just on the street but not aggressive.

Im thinking though....they do sell a 265/35/18 tire, and I will get the 285/35/18 on the back. Would that look right? the side wall height i mean? THis would alos be better on the rim as well correct?
