Ok guys, I found two 2012 stock wheels with blizzaks, but they are in Colorado. Wish I could find a decent set of just the rims. But thinking my best bet may be the package deal at TD. It looks to be a tad pricey adding in the TPS for 160. Do you guys think it would be ok to run without it and just live with the light for the winter? Although I still need to sell my gen. wheels, but not getting many bites on ebay.

Well I just got some 2011 GT rims. They are not in perfect shape as they have some minor rock chips, but overall not bad for $250. Now I have to decide on tires. I think I have it narrowed down to either Cooper Weather-Master WSC in stock size 235/50 for $137 each or Dunlop Winter Maxx size 225/55 for $150. Although TR also has some Yokohama Iceguard iG20 for $139, but they are new and no surveys on those yet.

Any opinions on tires yet? I calculated the final price and the two I'm leaning towards are within $20 of each other. That's assuming I include the road hazard with the Weather Masters. Its already added in the price for the Winter Maxx, but those also have a $40 rebate.

Hey just came across your thread here. My opinion would be to find a beater car. I am from Pocono's. I found a 2001 Honda accord 5 speed for 1500. Decent miles and runs very well. Have snow tires for it and I will be fine. Good luck on what tires you decide on getting.

Yeah, I thought about getting a beater. But I wanted to stay around 1k max or below and its hard to find something that is going to be reliable for that price-that has good tires and battery, ect. Plus I would have had to get insurance on another vehicle and park an extra car in the driveway when not in use since I don't have a garage.

Think I'll get a car cover and maybe an engine block heater for the winter too.
