Default Smallest rim to fit 2013 mustang gt premium coupe

I'm trying to find some winter tires for my lil brothers mustang. But the 245/45-19's are God awful expensive so I'm trying to find a cheaper route to go. I know his lug pattern is 5x4.5(5x114.3), and I can find a ton of rim and tire deals for that set up as a 16", 17" rim. The problem is I don't know what size rim will fit around the brakes, and clear all suspension work and what not. His car is completely stock, I'm just trying to help him out.

Thanks for your help in advance. I'll keep looking for now.

Erich

Your brothers driving a 2013 mustang and he's worried about the price of tires? How many miles are on his car? I wouldn't go lower than the stock 19's.

What brakes does he have? If he has the performance package with Brembo brakes then he can't fit anything smaller than the 19" that the car comes with.

Yeah, he's worried about the price of tires. Who isn't? Just looking for some helpful info.

Anyway..I was thinking 18" May work, since the gt500 rims are 18". But decreasing the tire size 1", doesn't cut cost much. So I would only switch if he could go 17" or smaller. So it looks like I'll get something from tire rack and bite the bullet.

Thank you for the info.

Erich.

Like someone said about the brakes, if you don't have the performance package Brembos then the 17's should work, you may be even be able to take down to the early 05 v6's 16 inch wheels.
