Default Oh Lawd not another will they fit? Small twist though.

Well you clicked so it's your fault so now read on and answer my simple question please.

Stock tires are starting to let out so along with new tires I'm going to get wheels as well.

I want square setup at 18x9 bullitt style deep dish look. My 08 GT has 18x8.5 stockers now.

Tires are straight forward at 255/45ZR18 for the new wheels and as my father-n-law works at Michelin and gets tires for next to free Pilot Super Sport's will be the choice.

Here is the twist one mod I did over the winter was to put the caliper brackets and rotors from a 2012 GT on my 08 GT. (little bigger size wise) They clear my current stock wheels fine.

My first choice was the bullitt style chrome rims on AM and they say they fit 05-14 GT's so I'm pretty sure they'll work with the 12 brakes on problem, but AM is out of stock for 5-7 weeks so no go there.

My next choice was American Racing Torq Thrust M as they basically look the same as AM's and are widely available at a premium price to AM though.

The part# for my 08 is 605M8966C, but that wheel is not listed on the AR website for 12 GT so I'm unsure if it will fit with the 12 brakes on the 08 GT. The only one listed on AR site is 20x8.5 for an 2012 in that style of wheel. I don't want 20's.

Various compatibility links say they will fit 12 GT, but others don't list it as an option. Amazon/Ebay say yes, but TireRack for one doesn't list it as compatible for 12 GT or at least it isn't an option to buy that wheel after entering the car info.

Is this because 18's weren't offered on a GT in 2012 of something so the sites don't set you go smaller? IDK maybe they were offered.

I understand the backspacing and offset basically set the position center section of the rim in/out in relation to the hub.

The AM's and AR's are different in both respects, but my question really pertains to if the spokes on the wheels will hit the brake calipers since they are further out from the hub since they are from 12 GT.

The AM's are LINK TO AM
18x9
Offset: +30mm
Backspacing: 6.18"

The AR's are LINK TO AR on TIRERACK
18x9
Offset: +34mm
Backspacing: 6.34"

So would the AR wheels fit on a 2012 GT non-brembo car? If yes then I know they'd fit the modified setup on my 08 GT.

Also I know I could get 1/8,1/4,etc wheel spacers, but I don't like that idea and want to use it as a last resort and avoid it if possible and a 5-7 week waiting period is less than acceptable.

Thanks for the help and remember you clicked

Gosh dang it. I can't get a word in edgewise with all these responses pilling up. So no one as the 18x9 AR TQ M's on a 2012+?

I decided to just order two sets of wheels. The black bullitt's from AM and a set of chrome bullitt's from AM.

The chrome will ship once they are in stock and the black arrive Tuesday. When the chorme ones finally arrive I'll sell the black set to someone else in my local club for a little loss, but this way I get new wheels now without fitment issues.

Who knows I might come to prefer the black and sell or cancel the chrome.
