Default tire question...

i have a 99 cobra and am looking to get new tires. i dont want to spend much more the 650-750 but am looking for something that may help tire hop a little as i have the IRS, and i will be driving them daily. i live in central texas, so weather is not a real problem as we dont get snow or ice very often, anyone who could help would be greatly appreciated..

When dealing with wheels there are many different measurments and some can be confusing. When it comes to wheel SIZING... its not all that complicated. Take for example... My wheels! 17x9 and 17x10.5

The wheel on the left has a diameter of 17" and a width of 9". This means that when the wheel is standing on its edge, the way it would be mounted on a car. It has a height of 17". And a depth(front to back) of 9"!
The wheel on the right however is this picture is noticably taller. That is because this picture depicts the width of the wheels. The wheel on the right is 10.5" wide.

I have 275/40/17 on it right now, but not sure i like having the lower profile tires on it. willing to go back to the stock size, will it make any differance? i dont like that every little bump seems to throw my rims off balace.
