Default Yes....another tire size question. Need help.

Just bought a 2010 GT and would like to keep the 19x8.5 wheels on the car. What's the widest size tires I can get for front and back and maintain a good ride? It currently has 245x45x19 all around and they seem too narrow to me.

I want to stay at or close to the 27.7" OD of the tire and go as wide as possible without rubbing in front. Will 275x40x19 fit front and back?

Looking at Faulken FK-452's.....good tire?

Thanks in advance for your input.

See my response in the Choosing a new tire thread for most of this, but a 275/40 will run on all four corners of your S197. I

As for tires, they should be chosen on your needs as a driver, so what are they

Daily driver only?
occasional 1/4 mile?
Twisties ?

Jazzer, thank you for your response. If I go 275x40's all around on my DD, will they rub in the front or wear badly because of the 19x8.5" rims?

I'm considering Faulken FK-452's.

Thanks again

You will not have any rubbing whatever, nor do I see bad tire wear.

Running an over-sized tire, and a 275 is slightly is just a microscopic smidge undersized for your wheels, you can get a little un-even wear and some additional strain on sidewalls. In this case, I bet it would be next to impossible to detect any funny wear or issues over time doing as such.

I just think that a 255 will respond better in the corners and just be a better overall fit.
